Steve’s GF Flour Blend

1 Cup 5 TBSP



Vegetable Shortening

7 g (1 Packet)

Instant Fast Acting Yeast


  1. Mix 260 g of Steve’s GF Bread Flour with the yeast and vegetable shortening.
  2. Add the water and mix until a dough is smooth. We recommend using an electric stand mixer for this with a dough hook, but it can also be done by hand.
  3. Divide the dough into 6 equal balls.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, take each ball, flatten it and roll it into the shape of a hot dog bun.
  5. Place each bun on a cookie sheet and cover with a damp cloth. Allow the buns to proof for about 30-45 minutes. While the buns are proofing, preheat the oven to 450 F.
  6. When the buns have doubled to tripled in size uncover them and place them in the oven. Bake for approximately 40 minutes, until golden brown!
